Stock market inch up by 3.70 points as SIC, Access and Société Generale post gains

Trading activity for the week gained 3.70 points to close at 2,697.35 translating into a YTD return of -3.30%.

The gain in the benchmark index [GSE-CI] was on the back of recorded gains in the share prices of SIC, Access Bank and Société Generale.

Intravenous Infusions Ltd. (IIL) emerged the sole loser on the exchange for last week.

The GSE Financial Stock Index  (GSE-FSI) on the other hand increased by 6.71 points to close the  week at 2,220.89 translating into a YTD return of 3.21%. In the

In aggregate, twenty-four (24) equities participated in trading with a total of 2.07 million shares valued at GH¢1.74 million traded during the week compared to 3.68 million shares valued at GH¢3.64 million which traded the previous week.

Intravenous Infusions Ltd. (IIL) recorded the lion’s share of the total volumes traded whilst Ghana Oil Company Ltd. (GOIL) accounted for 53.01% of the total value traded.

As the stock market resumes trading today, [Tuesday, April 1, 2022] from the Easter break, the opening stock prices for the three equities that recorded gains prior the break are GHS 2.29, GHS 0.26 and GHS 1.20 for Access Bank, SIC and Société Generale respectively.
