Sudan’s Head Coach Kwasi Appiah Aims for AFCON Qualification Alongside Ghana
James Kwasi Appiah, head coach of the Sudan senior national team, expresses his hopes for both Sudan and Ghana to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Currently, both teams are positioned second and third in Group F, preparing for a crucial doubleheader in the tournament qualifiers scheduled to take place in Morocco next year.
The Black Stars will host Sudan on Thursday, October 11, before the teams meet again in Libya five days later. Ahead of the matches, Appiah stated, “I hope both Ghana and Sudan qualify for the 2025 AFCON. We just have to pray and hope that we all achieve our goal,” during an interview with Asempa FM.
While focusing on the upcoming AFCON qualifiers, Appiah is also determined to lead the Falcons of Jediane to the global stage. “My topmost priority is to qualify Sudan for the 2026 World Cup,” he added, emphasizing the historic significance of this goal as Sudan has never qualified before.
Sudan arrived in Ghana on Monday, October 7, to kick off preparations for the crucial back to back header against Ghana.
