Antoine Semenyo Receives High Praise from Michael Owen

Former England forward Michael Owen has showered accolades on Ghanaian international Antoine Semenyo, calling him a “top talent” following an impressive performance for AFC Bournemouth. Semenyo caught Owen’s attention during Bournemouth’s 1-0 victory over Fulham on Monday evening, where he scored the only goal just two minutes into the match.

This goal marked a significant moment for Semenyo, as it ended an eight-game league goal drought and was his first club goal since February. His well-timed finish inside the box came in the second minute, helping secure crucial points for Bournemouth in the final game of match week 32.

Owen expressed his admiration for Semenyo, stating, “I love this boy. I like him. He is a top talent.” This praise underscores Semenyo’s growing recognition in the Premier League, bolstered by his overall eight league goals this season.

The goal against Fulham was Semenyo’s 17th Premier League strike since his *€10.3 million* move from Bristol City to Bournemouth in 2023. With this latest achievement, he has now joined the ranks of Ghanaian greats, sitting joint-fifth on the all-time highest Ghanaian Premier League scorers chart alongside Chelsea legend Michael Essien.

Semenyo’s form has not gone unnoticed, with top-tier clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal reportedly keeping an eye on the striker as speculation mounts about a potential summer transfer. His ability to score vital goals has solidified his place as a key player for Bournemouth.

With six games remaining in the season, Semenyo is eager to set new personal records in the Premier League, further establishing himself as a player to watch in the coming years.
