- Terri Harper Signs with Jake Paul’s MVP Promotions, Eyes Showdown with Caroline Dubois
Terri Harper, the reigning WBO lightweight champion and three-weight world titleholder, has signed a new promotional deal with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), setting the stage for a much-anticipated all-British clash against rising star Caroline Dubois.
The announcement was made Thursday evening by MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian, who confirmed Harper is now part of their rapidly expanding UK female boxing roster, which includes names like Ellie Scotney, Chantelle Cameron, Savannah Marshall, and Ramla Ali.
“She’s fought in five different weight divisions, and only 20 fights into her career,” Bidarian told Sky Sports. “We think the future is very bright for her and the rest of the UK.”
Harper vs Dubois: A British Battle in the Making
Talks of a Harper–Dubois clash have been heating up in recent weeks, especially after Dubois took to social media to issue a direct challenge.
“Congratulations. But it takes two to tango ‘champ’,” Dubois posted. “I want this fight next, I’m speaking to my team every day to ensure this happens.”
Harper responded with equal fire, stating her intent to fight the best in the division—and clearly, Dubois is top of that list.
“I hope you can keep that energy and make sure your team works for this fight to happen next,” Harper fired back.
The matchup promises to be a blockbuster on UK soil, pitting Harper’s championship experience against the youthful power and rising profile of the 23-year-old Dubois, who has rapidly become a fan favorite on the Sky Sports platform.
Holly Holm and Stephanie Han Also on MVP’s Radar
While Dubois is seen as the most immediate and realistic opponent, MVP is also eyeing potential crossover clashes. One name floated by Bidarian was Holly Holm, the combat sports icon and former UFC bantamweight champion, now back in boxing and eyeing a lightweight crown.
“Holly’s a Hall of Famer. She shocked the world when she knocked out Ronda Rousey,” Bidarian noted. “Now she’s back in boxing, and becoming a 135lb champion is her goal. That’s another potential fight for Terri down the line.”
Additionally, MVP has also recently signed Stephanie Han, another top name in the 135lb division, who is set to fight in August. The depth of MVP’s roster gives Harper multiple high-profile options and a clear route to becoming the undisputed lightweight queen.
Strategic Move to MVP for Global Spotlight
For Harper, the decision to join MVP signals a strategic shift towards global visibility and big-fight opportunities. Jake Paul and Bidarian’s outfit has rapidly become a disruptive force in the boxing business, combining marketing muscle with strategic matchmaking, particularly in the women’s game.
Harper’s May title defense against Germany’s Natalie Zimmermann in Doncaster showcased her elite technical ability and ring IQ. Now, with MVP behind her and a high-profile fight with Dubois likely on the horizon, Harper’s 2025 is shaping up to be a career-defining year.
