TESCON Roars at Abankwah Yeboah – Retract or Regret!

TESCON Roars at Abankwah Yeboah – Retract or Regret!

The arrogance of some NPP bigwigs is reaching sickening new heights, and TESCON is having none of it! One of Nana Akufo-Addo’s protégés, Abankwah Kwabena Yeboah, has sparked outrage with his reckless and demeaning attack on young patriots of the NPP, branding TESCON members as useless in elections!

In a shocking display of arrogance and ignorance, the ex-NPP National Treasurer and privileged Board Member of Agricultural Development Bank claimed that the NPP lost the Korle Klottey seat simply because parliamentary candidate Valentino Nii Noi Nortey dared to include TESCON members and young people in his campaign. His absurd excuse? “They’re too inexperienced!”

Yes, you read that right! According to Abankwah Yeboah, the very lifeblood of the NPP—the young, energetic, and passionate TESCON members—are liabilities rather than assets! This disgraceful and elitist rant was made before the Prof. Mike Ocquaye Election Review Committee on Friday, 8th February 2025.

But the leadership of TESCON within the Korle Klottey catchment area is not taking this blatant insult lying down!

In a blistering, no-holds-barred response, the University of Ghana Accra City Campus TESCON (UGACC) Secretary, Zibero William Nelson, and the Accra Technical University TESCON President, Adjetey Joseph Adjei, have called out Abankwah’s elitist nonsense, setting the record straight and demanding an immediate and unqualified apology!.

“For the record, TESCON members are sharp, dedicated, and politically astute! We give our time, energy, and commitment to this party,” they fumed. “We are NOT dumb, and we will NOT be scapegoated for leadership failures!”

It is no secret that young people form the majority of the voting public, yet some NPP overlords continue to belittle and sideline them. Instead of facing the hard truth about why the party is losing ground—economic suffering, internal chaos, and leadership incompetence—Abankwah Yeboah has chosen to shift blame onto the youth!

Such reckless, divisive, and outdated thinking is exactly why the NPP is losing the trust of young voters!

If the NPP elders continue this anti-youth agenda, they will alienate the very base that should be driving the party to victory in 2028.

TESCON has spoken loud and clear: Abankwah Yeboah must immediately retract his disgraceful statement and issue a public apology—or face the full wrath of TESCON!
The days of dismissing young people as mere spectators are over. TESCON and the youth are the future of the NPP—and no amount of elitist arrogance will change that!

BACKGROUND

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been reeling from the crushing defeat it suffered in the December 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections at the hands of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its so-called “second-hand” flagbearer.

In a desperate bid to understand how John Dramani Mahama managed to secure a commanding 57% of the vote with 183 parliamentary seats, while the NPP trailed far behind with a dismal 38% and just 88 seats, the party’s National Council has assembled a fact-finding team. This committee, led by Professor Aaron Mike Ocquaye, has been tasked with dredging up the reasons behind the devastating loss.
