Top 10 African Countries With the Lowest Cost of Diesel at the End of 2024

It is general knowledge that lower energy costs often reduce operating expenses for businesses that are heavily dependent on constant power supplies.

As a result, diesel is still a very valuable source of energy in many African markets that have been reluctant to explore alternate energy sources.

Consequently, diesel prices are a huge determinant of the trajectory of an economy, given how many industries are reliant on diesel fuel.

In sectors like manufacturing and agriculture, where diesel is used to run machinery, transport goods, and supervise industrial processes, this is especially significant.

Addressing this issue can give a financial boost that spreads across the economy, lowering total living expenses.

Affordable diesel prices assist in preventing inflation by keeping transportation, electricity, and food expenditures under control.

Having said that below are the 10 African countries with the cheapest diesel, according to GlobalPetrolPrices. The data on this list was last updated on the 16th of December, 2024.

The global average price of diesel currently is 1.17 U.S. dollars per liter, the same figure reported last month.

Diesel prices for Egypt, Tunisia, Ethiopia, and Gabon reduced in December compared to the prior month, while Nigeria is the only country on the list that experienced an increase.
