TOTAL emerge sole gainer on local bourse

Total Petroleum Ghana (TOTAL), emerged as the sole equity gainer on the local bourse at the end of trading session on Monday, October 18, 2021.

Stocks of TOTAL appreciated by 0.20% to close at GH¢5.01 translating into a YTD return of 77.03% for equity holders.

Market capitalization of the stock market on the back of the share price appreciation of TOTAL, improved marginally by GH¢1.12 million to close trading at GH¢64.09 billion representing a growth of 17.88%. 

The benchmark GSE Composite index (GSE-CI) at the close of day marginally improved by 0.11 points to close trading at 2,848.01 which translates into a  YTD return of 46.68%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) however remained flat to close at 2,070.00 translating into a YTD return of 16.11% as there were no gainers or decliners in any of the financial stocks.

Meanwhile, a total of 519,329 shares valued at GH¢2,275,155.52 exchanged hands in eleven (11) equities as Ecobank Ghana PLC (EGH) recorded the largest share of trades, accounting for 87.3% of the total value traded. 

Following EGH in terms of volume and value traded were CAL Bank, GOIL, MTNGH and SOGEGH respectively with the five stocks emerging as the most traded stocks on the GSE on Monday.
