Foreign Affairs Ministry Urges Ghanaians to Exit Lebanon as Conflict Intensifies

The Government of Ghana has issued an urgent advisory, calling on all Ghanaian nationals residing in Lebanon to leave the country immediately, as the security situation deteriorates amid the escalating conflict with Israel.

In a statement released on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration cited the “rapidly unfolding crisis” as a primary driver of the decision, urging citizens to evacuate via the next available commercial flights still operating out of Lebanon.

The advisory reflects growing concern about the potential risks posed to Ghanaians in the region as Lebanon’s instability deepens.

The government has emphasized the urgency of the situation, with the Ministry urging Ghanaians to act without delay. “We encourage all Ghanaian nationals in Lebanon to take advantage of the limited available flights to immediately leave the country,” the statement read.

To assist those facing difficulties due to lack of travel documentation, the Ghanaian government has activated diplomatic support through the Embassy of Ghana in Cairo and the Ghana Honorary Consulate in Beirut, enabling citizens to obtain Emergency Travel Certificates.

These measures are intended to facilitate their safe departure from the increasingly volatile region.
