U-20 Women’s WCQ: Black Princesses edge out Zambia to progress to the next stage
The Black Princesses, Ghana’s female U-20 team are through to the final round of qualifiers for the Women’s U-20 World Cup after beating Zambia 1-0 in Cape Coast.
A lone goal from Captain Evelyn Badu was enough as the Black Queens edged out the Cooper Queens, drawing them close to another World Cup appearance.
The Black Princesses started the game with all guns blazing but missed a golden chance which would have seen them take lead of affairs two minutes into the game with Salamatu Abdulai struggling to play the ball pass the Zambian goalkeeper.
Ghana were in total control in the first half and finally scored after 35 minutes, with captain Evelyn Badu’s spectacular strike.

The Princesses held onto the lead as the game went into the break with Ghana up by a goal.
Ghana missed key chances as the second half resumed with Suzzy Dede blasting a freekick inches wide before forward Rahma Jafar also had a chance wasted.
Goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan denied the visitors with a great save as the Black Princesses held on to their lead progressing with an aggregate score line of 1-0.
The Black Princesses progress to the final round of qualifiers with a double header against Uganda for a place at next year’s World Cup to be staged in Costa Rica next year.
