USA’s Stunning Performance
In a match that will be remembered for its sheer dominance, the USA outclassed debutants New Caledonia at the Estadio El Teniente. Benjamin Cremaschi was the star of the show, netting a hat-trick, including a spectacular volley just minutes into the game. Rasmus Holten scored the only goal from the penalty spot early in the match after a handball was called following a video review. Despite Nigeria’s efforts, including a shot that hit the post, Norway held firm to secure the three points.
Colombia Secures Victory Against Saudi Arabia
Colombia also made a strong start, narrowly defeating Saudi Arabia 1-0. Oscar Perea scored the decisive goal in the 64th minute, turning in a cross after a defensive mishap. Despite Saudi Arabia’s attempts to respond, Colombia’s defense stood strong, ensuring their unbeaten record against AFC nations in group-stage encounters remains intact.
