I would like to play for Asante Kotoko, Asamoah Gyan says

Black Stars’ all-time top scorer, Asamoah Gyan, says he desires to play for Asante Kotoko should he decide to relaunch his playing career and return to local football.

Gyan is known to have been a boyhood fan of the club but is yet to don the famous red jersey in his illustrious career as the last club he played before leaving Ghana to Europe was Liberty Professionals in 2003.

Upon making a return to local football last year, the forward was widely expected to sign for the Porcupine Warriors but ended up penning a one year deal with Legon Cities worth a million dollars.

However, speaking on Joy FM in the early hours of Monday, as part of his media interaction ahead of his book launch, Gyan expressed his love for the Ghana Premier League side while admitting the Kumasi-based side will be his next club should he make a return to local football.

“I would like to play for Asante Kotoko if I have to return [to playing football again]. I am a huge fan of the club,” Gyan said.
