UCL: Dortmund secure Champions League final berth with victory over PSG

Dortmund clinched a spot in the Champions League final for the first time since 2013, beating PSG 1-0 in Paris on Tuesday night.
Having held a 1-0 lead from the first leg, Dortmund extended their advantage when Mats Hummels capitalised on a defensive lapse to head in from Julian Brandt’s corner.
The pivotal goal arrived shortly after PSG’s Warren Zaire-Emery squandered a golden opportunity, volleying against the post from close range early in the second half.
Despite PSG’s efforts, hitting the post through Nuno Mendes once again, they failed to breach Dortmund’s resilient defence.
A controversial moment ensued when the hosts believed they had won a penalty, only for the referee to reverse his decision, ruling the foul on Ousmane Dembele to be outside the box.
While PSG sought their maiden European title, Dortmund’s superb defensive performance denied the French champions any lifeline.
Kylian Mbappe and Vitinha came close, hitting the crossbar, but Dortmund’s sturdy backline held firm, frustrating PSG’s attacking endeavours.
The final showdown is slated for Wembley on Saturday, June 1, with the possibility of an all-German affair reminiscent of the 2013 final when Bayern Munich triumphed over Dortmund in London.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are set to battle it out in the second semi-final, with the first leg ending in a 2-2 draw in Germany.
