UCL: Hansi Flick Urges Barcelona to Cut Out Mistakes Ahead of Clash With Brest
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick emphasized the need for his team to eliminate errors as they prepare for their Champions League match against French side Brest on Tuesday. Following a recent defeat at Real Sociedad and a draw with Celta Vigo, where they squandered a two-goal lead, Barcelona is eager to rebound.
Flick stressed the importance of better ball management and stronger defense, particularly after a red card left them at a disadvantage against Celta. He noted, “We have to learn that – when we lead 2-0, with the red card we have to defend much better than we did.”
Despite their challenges, Barcelona remains competitive in the Champions League, currently sitting sixth in the table. Flick acknowledged Brest’s impressive form, highlighting their recent 4-0 victory at Salzburg.
Defender Inigo Martinez also expressed the team’s frustration over their recent slip-ups, warning that a relaxed approach could be detrimental against a well-prepared opponent. “If we come out relaxed it could cost us dearly,” he cautioned.
As Barcelona looks to regain momentum, Flick is hopeful that his young squad can rise to the occasion and secure a vital win.
