Starlink to Launch Ghana Operations by End-August 2024 Following NCA Approval
Starlink, the satellite internet service provider owned by American billionaire Elon Musk, is poised to commence operations in Ghana by the end of August 2024.
This is after having completed all necessary administrative and licensing procedures with the National Communications Authority (NCA).
According to a statement released by the NCA on August 22, Starlink will operate under the name Space X Starlink GH Ltd., marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion into the African market.
The entry of Starlink is anticipated to enhance internet connectivity across Ghana, particularly in remote and underserved regions, as the country continues to advance its digital infrastructure.
This development is expected to further bolster Ghana’s digital economy, providing high-speed satellite internet to a broader swath of the population.
