Max Verstappen ended his lengthy wait for pole position by securing the top spot for Saturday’s sprint race at the United States Grand Prix.

In a thrilling qualifying session, the three-time world champion clocked a best lap of 1:32.833, narrowly beating Mercedes’ George Russell by just 0.012 seconds.
