GCB Bank honors Chief Imam with donation in celebration of Eid al-Adha

GCB Bank, has donated food items and an undisclosed monetary sum to the office of the National Chief Imam ahead of the Eid al-Adha celebration.

The donation ceremony was attended by Emmanuel Odartey Lamptey, Deputy Managing Director of Operations, and other key staff members of GCB Bank.

In his remarks to the media, Mr. Lamptey underscored the Chief Imam’s pivotal role in national development, describing his leadership as emblematic of the spirit of sacrifice characteristic of Eid al-Adha.

“The Chief Imam has played a significant role in national development. So we’re here to pay courtesy to him. This is a season of sacrifice, and we view his leadership as a form of sacrifice. Therefore, we are here as GCB Bank to pay our respects to him,” he stated.

Mr. Lamptey further elaborated on GCB Bank’s extensive corporate social responsibility initiatives, highlighting substantial investments in the education sector and healthcare facilities.

He articulated that the engagement with the Chief Imam was intended to draw inspiration from his exemplary leadership, reinforcing the bank’s mission to contribute to Ghana’s economic development.

“As part of our CSR, we’ve invested in the educational sector and various health facilities. Being here today is a form of taking more inspiration from the Chief Imam and his exemplary leadership. We are inspired to do more to support the economic growth of Ghana,” he said.

He further extended warm wishes for Eid al-Adha to the Muslim community, expressing hope for abundant blessings from Allah.

In a gesture of gratitude, Chief Imam Osman Nuhu Sharubutu expressed his appreciation for the bank’s contributions, offering prayers for divine blessings upon the bank to enable it to continue its support for the nation’s development.
