Ing. Ken Ashigbey Bows out as CEO of Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications and Digital Chamber of Ghana

Ing. Kenneth Ashigbey has officially stepped down from his role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications and the Digital Chamber of Ghana, effective end-May 2025.

His departure marks the end of nearly eight years of distinguished leadership that has left a significant imprint on Ghana’s telecommunications and digital financial sectors.

In a joint press statement, the two chambers lauded Ing. Ashigbey’s tenure as transformative, underscoring his visionary leadership, unwavering passion, and commitment to excellence, which they noted elevated industry standards and contributed meaningfully to national economic development.

“As he steps into his next chapter, the two Chambers wish Dr Ashigbey continued success and fulfilment,” the statement read.

The chambers further assured stakeholders of their continued commitment to strengthening advocacy, enhancing stakeholder engagement, and accelerating innovation for the benefit of all Ghanaians.

They also noted that during the transition period, all matters relating to the leadership of the Chamber should be directed to the Chairman of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications. Details regarding the appointment of a new CEO, they said, would be communicated in due course.

The Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications functions as the unified voice of the country’s mobile telecom and technology industry, with a strategic focus on advancing telecommunications and mobile financial services through advocacy and partnerships.

Ing. Ashigbey, a seasoned engineer and media executive, is widely acknowledged for his professional versatility. In 2016, while serving as Managing Director of Graphic Communications Group Limited, he was awarded the status of Fellow by the Institute of Certified Economists of Ghana (ICEG)—the highest recognition conferred by the Institute.

The citation accompanying the award extolled his emotional intelligence, professionalism, and visionary approach to business transformation.

“In today’s demanding and competitive business world, it takes more than brains and hard work to get along. Those who succeed have another quality in common: emotional intelligence,” it noted.

“Your high sense of purpose and responsibility, professionalism, excellence and tenacity have further enhanced and repositioned the reputation and brand of Graphic Communications Group Limited.”

Ing. Ashigbey has also previously held key leadership roles across Ghana’s media and broadcasting landscape, including at Multi TV, Joy FM, and Optimum Media Prime (OMP), contributing significantly to product innovation and operational excellence.

His exit signals the end of a notable era for the chambers.
