Unilever Ghana emerges sole decliner on GSE

Unilever Ghana emerged the sole decliner on the local bourse on the first trading day of the week.

The equity recorded a 58 pesewas decrease in share price at the end of trading on Monday.

With an opening price of GHS 5.89 pesewas, the equity ended trading activity on the bourse with a closing price of GHS 5.31 pesewas.

The recorded price share decline marks a year-to-date share price decrease of 9.85% for the equity.

Meanwhile, trading activity on the Accra bourse dropped by 3.48 points to close trading at 2,473 points representing a YTD return of -11.34%.

The GSE Financial Stock  Index (GSE-FSI) on the other hand remained unchanged to close  trading at 2,018 points translating into a YTD return of -6.21%.

Market capitalization for the day settled at GH¢ 63.74 billion.

A total of 270,298 shares valued at GH¢ 875,925.57 was traded on  the day. Compared with the previous GSE trading day (August 26), Monday’s data shows a 6.25% increase in volume traded 404.68% increase in trade turnover. 

Enterprise Group PLC.(EGL) accounted for 44.14% of the total value  traded and also recorded the largest volumes traded.
