President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria has assured President John Dramani Mahama of his unwavering support, emphasizing Nigeria’s readiness to assist Ghana whenever needed.

Speaking at President Mahama’s inauguration on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, President Tinubu highlighted the strong bond between the two nations and reaffirmed their shared commitment to regional prosperity.

“President Mahama can count on me at any time, Nigeria will always stand by Ghana. We are brothers and sisters,” President Tinubu said.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties

President Tinubu expressed confidence in President Mahama’s leadership to strengthen ties between the two nations, noting that the Ghanaian leader’s administration would usher in a new era of collaboration and shared prosperity.

“The new government under President Mahama will deepen the bond between our countries, leading to shared prosperity for our citizens. Your administration will bring meaningful change for Ghanaians,” President Tinubu remarked.

Shared Vision for Addressing Common Challenges

President Tinubu also emphasized the importance of joint efforts to tackle pressing challenges, including youth unemployment and poverty, which affect both countries.

He called for a forward-looking approach, filled with hope and optimism, to address these issues collaboratively.

“Together, we can tackle the problems of youth unemployment, poverty, and other challenges. Let us look ahead to a future filled with hope and optimism,” he added.

The remarks underscore a renewed commitment to cooperation between Ghana and Nigeria, as the two nations seek to leverage their partnership for economic growth and regional stability.
