“We Have the Quality to Finish Strong” – Otto Addo Says As Black Stars Prepare for Unity Cup Third Place Match

Ahead of the decisive third-place match in the 2025 Unity Cup, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure a victory against Trinidad and Tobago. The match is set to take place on Saturday, May 31, at 11:30 GMT at the G-Tech Community Stadium.

Addo’s remarks came during a pre-game press conference, where he emphasized the importance of finishing the tournament on a high note, despite missing key players like Thomas Partey. “We showed a good reaction against Nigeria, and we really want to finish this tournament with a win. I think we have the quality for that; we just need to show it on the pitch from the beginning, not just in the second half,” he stated.

Ghana is coming off a narrow 2-1 defeat to Nigeria, while Trinidad and Tobago lost 3-2 to Jamaica in the semifinals. Addo believes that his squad has what it takes to overcome the Ivorian side and secure third place in the tournament.

“The game against Trinidad and Tobago is crucial for us. We need to establish our dominance early and capitalize on our chances,” he added, reinforcing the need for an improved performance compared to their last outing.

Nigeria will face Jamaica in the final later that day at 16:30 GMT.
