Workers of Plantations Socfinaf Ghana Demand 40% Salary Increment Amid Management Standoff
Workers of Plantations Socfinaf Ghana Limited located in Dabuasi, Takoradi in the Western Region, have picketed against the refusal of the company’s management to agree to a 40% increment in salaries.
Checks by norvanreports, indicate that instead of the 40% increment demanded by the workers, management of Plantations Socfinaf Ghana has agreed to a 25% increment in salaries, an offer which has been rejected by the leadership of the Workers Union.
Further checks by norvanreports reveal that the leadership of the Workers Union has engaged the management of the company in several meetings trying to convince management to review its 25% salary increment offer to at least between 30% and 35%.
However, the company’s Management remains adamant on its 25% salary increment offer.
According to the workers of the company, they intend to continue the demonstration until the company’s management heeds their demands for a 40% salary increment.
“Apart from demonstrating today [Friday], we will continue the demonstration on Monday, January 6, and the day after till management of the company agrees to our demands,” said one worker speaking on the condition of anonymity.
