World Cup draw pots – Brazil, France, Argentina in Pot 1, Germany in Pot 2; Ghana in Pot 4
The World Cup draw pots are always controversial, and Qatar 2022 is no different with some potential tournament winners not seeded for the draw.
The pots for the World Cup draw have been calculated using FIFA’s ranking.
As Qatar is hosting the tournament, they will be automatically allocated the seeded spot in Group A.
England is among the remaining seven seeded teams, while Germany and the Netherlands can only make Pot 2.
Pot 4 will include the nations with the lowest FIFA ranking including Ghana, as well as the two winners of the inter-continental playoffs, and the winner of the final European play-offs.
Rules and regulations of the draw state that apart from UEFA who have 13 slots at the global showpiece, teams from the same continent cannot be drawn against each other in the same group.
The World Cup draw will be taking place at 16:00GMT on Friday April 1 in Doha, Qatar.
