Ghana Premier League Champions to Receive Record GHS 2 Million Prize Money – GFA

In a landmark announcement, Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku revealed that the winner of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season will take home a record GHS 2 million in prize money. This significant increase in financial reward was unveiled during the GFA’s 31st Ordinary Congress held today.

Okraku termed the new prize structure a “game changer” for the league, aimed at enhancing competitiveness among the 18 participating clubs. “This is a story that has never been told, but today it’s being told,” he stated. “It has been our gospel according to our Premier League. Every point is important, and now there’s ₵2 million as prize money.”

The GFA President emphasized that this substantial prize will not only stimulate excitement among the clubs but also serve as a motivation for players, coaches, and fans alike to strive for excellence throughout the season.

This ₵2 million prize represents the highest payout in Ghana Premier League history, reflecting the GFA’s commitment to improving financial incentives in domestic football.

The announcement is expected to raise the stakes for the upcoming season, as clubs gear up to compete for the lucrative reward that could significantly enhance their operations and development.
