BoG Governor Dr Ernest Addison to Begin Terminal Leave on February 3, Retires on March 28

Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Ernest Addison, is set to commence his terminal leave on February 3, 2025, ahead of his official retirement on March 28, 2025.

His leave and subsequent retirement have received approval from President John Mahama.

Dr. Addison first assumed office as Governor of the central bank on April 3, 2017, and was reappointed for a second term on March 29, 2021.

His tenure has been marked by significant monetary policy decisions aimed at stabilizing Ghana’s economy amid various macroeconomic challenges.

With his impending exit, attention is now focused on President Mahama’s expected appointment of a successor to lead the BoG in steering the country’s monetary policies.
