Vice President-elect Jane Opoku-Agyemang Calls for Unity and Hard Work Post-Election Victory

The Vice President-elect, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has urged supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to prepare for the challenging work ahead, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in achieving the party’s vision for Ghana.

Delivering her acceptance speech as the Vice President-elect on December 9, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang described her election as a turning point, marking the conclusion of a rigorous campaign and the beginning of transformative governance.

“The journey is over; the work is about to begin,” she declared, expressing both determination and optimism.

Reflecting on the broader implications of her historic nomination and victory, she said, “This victory is for all of us, especially for our daughters, youth, and mothers. My nomination has so many implications.”

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang reiterated her commitment to inclusive governance, pledging to be a trailblazer for equity and empowerment. “I will hold the door open, ensuring others can wish to travel through that door. This position is not just about me—it is a position that empowers others,” she emphasized.

Highlighting the importance of gender equity, she remarked, “This country is not going to be built by half the gender, and they know very well.”
