Year-to-date Returns on Equity Investments Hit 13.83%
The GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) ended last week’s trading activities on a positive note recording 5,564 points, an increase of 94.05 points from the previous day’s trading session.
The positive uptrend in the GSE-CI since the beginning of the year has resulted in a 13.83% year-to-date return on equity investments for investors.
This has been further reflected in an increase in the market capitalization of the local bourse.
The market capitalization of the local bourse ended last week at GHS 125 billion, an increase of GHS 4.5 billion from the GHS 120.5 billion market value the bourse began the week with.
The total volume and value of equities traded for last week amounted to 3,088,699 and GHS 24.1 million respectively.
Increased trading activities on the bourse are expected this week on the back of price increments on equities such as ACCESS, CAL, ETI, and MTNGH last week.
The four equities begin Monday’s trading activities with share prices of GHS 6.82, GHS 0.47, GHS 0.62, and GHS 2.90 respectively.
