New Study Reveals the Top “Lazy Girl Jobs” for 2025

A 2025 Guardian report showed 83% of workers across 35 countries ranked work-life balance as their top priority, surpassing pay. The “lazy girl jobs” concept reflects a broader shift in work culture: employees now prioritize mental health, autonomy, and flexibility over traditional career paths. In this context, Eskimoz evaluated six jobs based on average working hours, remote job availability, social interaction levels, job stress, and average salary. Metrics were normalized using Min-Max Scaling from 0 to 100, and final scores were calculated to rank the jobs.

Virtual Assistant30.08863.0$26.57182

The complete research is available here.
Data Entry Clerk ranks first among the most “lazy girl-friendly” jobs, achieving the highest Lazy Girl Job Score of 100. With an average of 37.5 working hours per week, extremely low interpersonal interaction levels and low stress, this role combines flexibility with simplicity. Remote opportunities, although lower compared to others, are sufficient to make this a top choice for those seeking low-pressure employment.
Online Tutor secures second place with a score 94, and with a great number of remote job listings, which is the highest among all evaluated roles. Although social interaction is a bit higher (3.5 out of 5), online tutors work on average 22.5 hours and get a competitive average pay at $30 per hour.
Transcriptionist ranks third and earns a score of 92. The professionals have the lowest average working hours among all jobs at just 22 hours weekly. With 520 remote job listings and a steady hourly wage of $19.50, this role attracts most to those seeking minimal workload without sacrificing consistent pay.
Proofreader lands fourth and scores 91, offering a mix of low stress, low interaction and higher-than-average hourly earnings at $26.50. With 384 remote job openings, it’s not the widest field, but the job’s steady pay and quiet work environment make it one of the best options for those who want reliable income without daily pressure or constant meetings.
Virtual Assistants rank fifth, scoring 82. They have access to 886 remote job listings and typically work 30 hours per week. Social interaction levels are modest and the pay averages $26.50 per hour. Although stress levels are higher than some other roles, the wide range of opportunities makes it easier to find flexible arrangements.
Translators rank sixth with a score of 76. They enjoy 1,748 remote job openings and a light workload of just 25 hours per week, offering plenty of flexibility. Social demands stay low (3.3 out of 5), although stress levels are slightly higher than in other roles. With average pay at $20 per hour, this role appeals most to those prioritizing independence and consistent remote work over maximum earnings.
A spokesperson from Eskimoz commented on the study: “The ‘lazy girl job’ trend isn’t about working less, it’s about working smarter. People are putting mental health at the center of their career decisions, seeking roles where they can deliver results creatively without burning out. Employers who recognize that flexibility, autonomy, and calm environments matter as much as pay will be the ones attracting and retaining top talent in this new era of work.”
