Women’s Premier League: Hasaacas Ladies finish first round unbeaten

Defending champions, Hasaacas Ladies put up an impressive performance to edge out Thunder Queens 2-1 to end the first round of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) unbeaten.

Veronica Appiah and Doris Boaduwaa were on target for the Hasmal Ladies in the first half with Leticia Adjei pulling one back for Thunder, but Hasaacas held on to their lead, picking up all three points in a 2-1 victory at the Carl Reindorf Park.

Appiah made good work of a defensive blunder in the 20th minute to set things running before inform attacker Boaduwaa doubled the lead for the visitors before the break.

From recess, Thunder Queens lifted their game to chase for a point at least with the introduction of new players as this yielded results after substitute Adjei managed to pull one back.

Thunder Queens kept pushing for an equalizer but the Hasmal defense proved why they are the best in the country, negating all means for the equalizer.
