Energy Ministry, NPA Engage Industry on Proposed Petroleum Sector Legislation
The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) on Monday, August 25, convened a stakeholder forum in Accra to deliberate on the draft NPA Bill, as part of efforts to finalise the proposed legislation.
The meeting, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, was chaired by the Minister, John Abdulai Jinapor, who was accompanied by his deputy, Richard Gyan-Mensah, and other ministry officials.
According to the NPA, the bill, once enacted, will strengthen the regulatory and operational frameworks governing the petroleum downstream sector, while promoting greater efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
Stakeholders, including key players across the petroleum value chain, were invited to provide feedback and inputs to help refine the legislation ahead of its submission to Parliament.
The Authority noted that the engagement underscores its commitment to inclusive policymaking and ensures industry perspectives are adequately incorporated in the final draft.
