Zambia: Operation yields seizure of illegal goods and arrests at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport

the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) of Zambia undertook a coordinated operation in response to intelligence regarding a chartered aircraft transporting hazardous cargo. The aircraft in question had reportedly touched down at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on August 13, 2023, at 19:00 hours.

Working in tandem with various law enforcement agencies, the DEC executed the operation on Monday, August 14, 2023, at the said airport. The outcome of this endeavor has unveiled a series of alarming seizures, painting a stark picture of illicit activities.

The confiscated items include:

  1. USD 5,697,700
  2. Five (05) pistols
  3. Seven (07) magazines
  4. 126 rounds of ammunition
  5. 602 pieces of suspected Gold weighing 127.2 kg
  6. Equipment designed for measuring Gold

This impactful operation not only resulted in the seizure of these contraband items but also led to the impounding of the aircraft involved, specifically the Global Express T7-WW, on which the illicit items were discovered. Additionally, another aircraft belonging to a local airline, identified as a King Air B190, was also seized in connection with the ongoing investigation.

The operation has culminated in the apprehension of ten (10) suspects, including one Zambian national. These individuals have been placed in detention, pending further investigations into the wide-ranging implications of their alleged involvement in the illegal activities.

This high-stakes operation serves as a testament to the concerted efforts of the Zambian law enforcement agencies in curbing nefarious activities and upholding the rule of law. As authorities delve deeper into the intricacies of the case, the seized assets and detained suspects stand as a stark reminder of the global battle against illicit trade and criminal enterprises.

Please check your facts right and correct this story, this is evidence of the corruption in this government and how they can do anything to fool the masses.

That “CONTRABAND” is gone, the money, the the gold, the weapons, the people involved, it’s all gone. The country has been told to beieve that the gold was copper, zink, tin etc coated as gold. But still under heavy police escort, it has been handed back to the rightful owners without laying a single charge. Remember the money was first reported as $11.6 million but finally it has been reduced to $5.7 million.

Whoever has taken the rest knows why it has all these mutations.
