Ashanti Gold’s Yaw Annor ranked 7th on FIFA’s list of players with most goals in 2022

Yaw Annor has been named in FIFA’s list of top 10 goal scorers in 2022 after his spectacular performance in the just-ended 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season. 

The Ashantigold playmaker finished the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League as the top scorer with an eyewatering 22 goals, equaling a long-standing record set by former Hearts of Oak striker Ishmael Addo.

In a photo shared on Twitter and sighted by NorvanReports, Yaw Annor was ranked in the top 10 goal scorers in 2022, ahead of Frenchman Wissam Ben Yedder and Real Madrid Academy graduate, Pablo Sarabia.

Annor was jointly ranked 7th on the illustrious list alongside Brazilian attacker Hulk and RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku. 

The list is headlined by Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, who scored 27 goals in 2022 with Real Madrid talisman Karim Benzema and wantaway Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski notching 25 and 22 goals respectively. 

Angola-based Brazilian forward Tiago Azulão comes in the fourth spot with 22 goals, the same as Fluminese marksman Germán Cano.

Newly-signed Bayer Munich player Sadio Mane comfortably sits in the sixth spot with 21 goals while the trident of Annor, Nkunku and Ben Yedder made the list with 20 goals. Notable mentions include Spaniard Pablo Sarabia, prolific Togolese striker Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba and former Brazil U20 star Anderson Talisca.

Earlier, we reported that Ashantigold forward Yaw Annor has equaled Ishmael Addo’s 22 goals in a single Ghana Premier League season following his brace against Bibiani Goldstars.

Annor scored twice in his side’s 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon. The goals were his 21st and 22nd of the season, beating Kotoko’s Mbella Etouga who scored 21 goals in his debut season.
