4th First National Bank Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament Celebrates Excellence, Sportsmanship and National Unity

The prestigious 4th Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament concluded in grand style on Friday, 28th November at the Achimota Golf Club, marking a significant highlight in Ghana’s annual sporting calendar.

The event was honoured by the presence of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, whose attendance underscored the national importance of the tournament in promoting sports, wellness and cohesion.

Also in attendance was the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, who officially performed the ceremonial tee-off to commence the tournament. His participation further reinforced government’s commitment to advancing sporting activities and nurturing recreational excellence across the country.

Over the years, the Head of State Invitational has distinguished itself as a premier event promoting golfing as an attractive sports capable of building our communities and fostering national pride. It gathers an impressive field of golfers, leading business executives, diplomats, public officials, and sports enthusiasts for a day of high-level competition and networking.

This year, First National Bank proudly headlined the event as the main sponsor, deepening its investment in sports as a pathway to development and opportunity. Sylvia also emphasized that the bank’s continued support for sporting events is part of a broader strategy to build latent talent and promote wellness.

In his address, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama expressed his appreciation to the organisers and sponsors for putting together an impactful tournament. He highlighted the vast opportunities that golf offers. “I have seen firsthand the possibilities and value that sporting events like golf can unlock. We need to give it all the push we can so that we can leverage the gains for engagement and development”.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony celebrating standout golfers and acknowledging the exceptional collaboration between organizers, sponsors and participants in delivering a world-class experience.
