Ghana Stock Exchange Sees No Movement as Indices Remain Flat

The Ghana Stock Exchange closed the day with no movement in its major indices, reflecting a day of muted trading activity.

The benchmark Composite Index remained flat at 4,457.93 points, sustaining a robust year-to-date (YTD) return of 42.42%. Similarly, the Financial Stocks Index showed no change, closing at 2,115.52 points, with a YTD return of 11.25%.

Market capitalization held steady at GH₵92.98 billion, as the session concluded without any gainers or decliners.

However, there was a marked decline in market activity, with trading volume plunging by 71.58% to 21,890 shares, down from the previous 77,028 shares. The value of traded shares also experienced a notable reduction, dropping by 25.48% to GH₵129,929.55.

MTN Ghana led the trading session, with 7,971 shares changing hands, amounting to GH₵18,253.59 in value.

Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) saw minimal activity, with just 1,100 shares traded, valued at GH₵165.00. A total of twelve stocks were traded during the session, reflecting the broader market’s subdued performance.
