Ghana: United Airlines starts Washington DC-Accra daily service December 1

United Airlines is planning to increase flights between Accra and Washington D.C. during the winter season.

The nonstop service is set to increase from three-times weekly to daily from 1 December 2021 – 31 January 2022 eastbound and from 2 December 2021 – 1 February 2022 westbound, subject to government approval.

United is the only carrier serving Accra nonstop from Washington, D.C.

United’s service increase announcement comes just over two months after the introduction of the nonstop service between Kotoka International Airport and United’s hub at Washington Dulles International Airport.

Flights are operated with state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring United’s award-winning United PolarisSM business class cabin and United Premium PlusSM.

“The increase to our recently introduced Capital-to-Capital service between Accra and Washington, D.C. reaffirms our commitment to our customers in Ghana and provides even more options for flying to our Washington Dulles hub and beyond to almost 100 destinations across the Americas,” said Thorsten Lettnin, United’s Director Sales Continental Europe, India and West-Africa.

The United Travel Experience

United’s service from Accra to Washington Dulles is operated with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring 28 all-aisle-access United Polaris business, 21 United Premium Plus premium economy, 36 Economy PlusSM and 158 Economy seats.

The revolutionary design of the Dreamliner offers customers many features for increased comfort, such as large windows, spacious overhead storage and modern LED lighting to simulate a full day, helping passengers adjust their internal clock on the transatlantic flight. In addition, a lower cabin altitude, cleaner air and smoother ride help customers feel rested on arrival.

United Polaris business class is a premium travel experience that prioritises relaxation and comfort, featuring quality inflight dining, premium amenity kits and full flat-bed, all-aisle-access seats.
