Unilever Ghana emerges sole gainer on GSE with 9.79% share price appreciation

Unilever Ghana (UNIL) emerged as the sole gainer on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) at the end of Thursday’s trading session.

UNIL gained 9.79 percentage points in share price appreciation ending the trading session at a share price of Ghs 4.26 pesewas. The equity begun Thursday’s trading session with a share price of Ghs 3.88 pesewas.

The recorded share price appreciation of the equity pushed up the Ghana Stock Exchange Composite Index (GSE-CI) by 2.27 percentage points to close the market at 2,752.42 points representing 41.76 percent year-to-date (YTD) returns for investors.

The stock has since Monday, gained in share price posting an impressive 113 percent returns for investors over the past month.

Meanwhile, the GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) remained unchanged at 1,909.91,  also representing a YTD return of 7.13%. Market Capitalization has climbed up to Ghs 62.76 billion, a growth of 15.42 percent since the year began.

A total of 731,267 shares valued at Ghs 1,572,555.31 was traded compared to 53,207 shares valued at Ghs 109,312.50 that was traded on Wednesday. 

At close of market, ten (10) equities changed hands with Standard  Chartered Bank (SCB) recording the most trades as it accounted for 42.27 percent of the total value traded.
