MTN ends Wednesday’s trading session as the sole equity gainer

Scancom Plc [MTNGH] ended Wednesday’s trading session – January 12, 2022 – as the sole equity gainer on the local bourse.

Stocks of MTNGH appreciated by 2.91% to close at GH¢1.06 from an opening price of GH¢1.03 translating into a YTD return of -4.50% since the beginning of 2022 for equity holders.

Market capitalization of the stock market on the back of the share price appreciation of MTNGh increased by GH¢368.72 million to close trading at GH¢63.87 billion.

The benchmark GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) gained 35.23 points to close trading at 2,730.16 representing a YTD return of -2.12%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) however remained flat to close trading at 2,151.85 also translating into a YTD return of 0.00%. 

In all, a total of 46,158 shares valued at GH¢56,701.28 were traded in thirteen (13) equities compared to 68,498 shares valued at GH¢61,145.95 which exchanged hands the previous day with Cal Bank PLC.(CAL) recording the  largest share of trades and accounting for 38.2% of the total value traded.
