A delightful evening of taste and culture at Taste of Ghana 2.0
The second edition of Taste of Ghana saw the Forecourt of the State House come to a standstill as many trooped in to a thrilling and electrifying atmosphere with the display of the rich Ghanaian culture; music, arts, food, fashion, drama and dance.
Under the theme “Our Language. Our Identity. Our Pride”, the festival featured various indigenous cultural elements with an emphasis on different aspects and relevance of our rich Ghanaian cultural heritage and landmarks, including the potential to boost the creative industry and contribute to Ghana’s job creation and development objectives.
Highlighting the distinct and authentic traditional richness of made-in-Ghana products and the country’s rich cultural heritage, there were opportunities for business and investment for Ghanaians, its diaspora, and people from all walks of life in an informal setting to display their products and services and also a platform for investors, businesses and the public to network in a relaxed and inspired setting and set the stage for future fruitful collaboration
Ensuring a fair representation of the unique and heterogeneous cultures in the 16 regions, the event saw a rich display of Ghanaian culture focusing on kingship heritage from the Mantse Agbonaa in the Greater Accra Region to, Anloga in the Volta to Manhyia in the Ashanti Region and to the Ya Na in the Northern parts of the country.
Also on display, were the various Ghanaian delicacies and African wears from all the 16 regions with foods like Tuo-Zaafi, Beans with plantain, Banku, Fufu, Kenkey, Jollof and many others. Added to that was the presence of Ghanaian drinks like plamwine, asana, bissap juice, fula and many others.
Highlife legend Amakye Dede, Sarkodie, Kofi Kinaata and Samini were among top artistes that performed at this years edition of Taste of Ghana with Kwesi Arthur, Mr Drew, Okyeame Kwame, Kwabena Kwabena and groups such as Soul Winners and Wulomei joining in.
The taste of Ghana 2.0 is spearheaded by the GIPC in partnership with; the Ghana Tourism Authority, Ghana Export Promotion Authority, the Beyond the Return initiative, Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional integration, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
