The Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) has cautioned organisations against the use of the AfCFTA logo and name without authorisation from the Secretariat.
In a statement signed by the Senior Communications Advisor of the AfCFTA Secretariat, Grace Khoza and sighted by norvanreports, the Secretariat noted the use of the AfCFTA logo and name is a violation of the AU’s Intellectual Property Rights as protected under the Paris Convention for the protection of industrial property.
The Secretariat in its release therefore called for the immediate cease in the use of the AfCFTA logo, name and other materials by organisations.
Should any organisation seek to use the AfCFTA logo, name or material, it must first seek permission from the Secretariat.
