  • AI Startup Probook Raises US$40.00 million as Home Service Brands Automate Dispatch

Probook, an artificial intelligence operating system built for home service businesses, has raised US$40.00 million from two of Silicon Valley’s most influential venture capital firms as investors continue to back AI companies solving operational problems in traditional industries.

The funding comprises a US$34.00 million Series A round led by Andreessen Horowitz, widely known as a16z, and a US$6.00 million Seed round led by Sequoia Capital. Sequoia also participated in the Series A round.

The New York-based company said the capital will be used to scale its go-to-market team, expand engineering capacity and strengthen customer success as demand grows among home service operators.

Probook is positioning itself as the AI operating system for the home services industry, with a platform built around dispatch, the operational centre of businesses such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, cleaning and other field-based service providers.

The company argues that many home service operators have spent the past three years buying disconnected AI tools, including voice agents, chat widgets and follow-up software. But most of those tools, according to Probook, were designed for lead generation and failed to solve the deeper operational challenge of dispatch.

“Every vendor built for the top of the funnel, where leads come in — and ignored dispatch, the brain of every home service business, where customer experience is made or broken,” the company said.

The platform brings together intake, data cleaning, customer messaging, outbound communication and dispatch around a shared context layer. Customers remain on one text thread and one number from initial contact through service completion, while inbound leads are answered with relevant information and bookings are cleaned before assignment.

The result, according to the company, is a more connected customer experience in which human staff manage exceptions, technicians sell more, shops run more jobs and operators improve earnings.

For Probook co-founder and Chief Executive Officer George Eliadis, the product is rooted in personal experience rather than simply market opportunity.

“I started Probook to solve a problem in my own business,” Mr Eliadis said. “I grew up pressure washing in upstate New York with my dad. Six summers in the truck. I spent two to three hours of my day driving between jobs. I’d be up on a ladder washing a house and miss calls because I couldn’t hear my phone ringing.”

He later spent a summer inside TR Miller, a US$40.00 million HVAC, plumbing and electrical business in Illinois that became Probook’s first customer. There, he said, the same challenges he faced in a small family business appeared at much larger scale.

“Most AI vendors flocked to this space because it looked attractive on a spreadsheet,” he said. “We came to it because we grew up in it. Dispatch is the hardest problem in home services. If you don’t start there, you can’t understand the business.”

The company says this dispatch-first approach differentiates it from point-solution AI vendors that automate isolated parts of the customer journey without connecting to field operations.

For home service businesses, dispatch is critical because it determines how quickly customers are served, how technicians are assigned, how jobs are scheduled, and how efficiently revenue is converted from demand into completed work.

A missed call, poorly assigned job or incomplete booking can mean lost revenue. At scale, these small inefficiencies can reduce margins, frustrate customers and limit growth.

Probook said it deploys with customers in person, configures the platform alongside front-line teams and remains accountable for the outcomes it promises.

The company already serves customers across hundreds of locations in the United States, ranging from independently owned shops to private equity-backed home services platforms. Its customers include TurnPoint Services, Master Trades Group, Del-Air, Peterman Brothers and Sila Services.

“With Probook, we’ve centralized dispatch across 11 markets and 200 technicians without adding overhead. That scalability is critical to how we grow,” said Chad Peterman, Chief Executive Officer of Peterman Brothers.

Summers Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, which operates 14 locations and has 260 technicians on the platform, booked 2,542 jobs in its first month on Probook with zero human intervention, according to the company.

Del-Air, an eight-location business in Florida, uses Probook across its stack.

“We chose Probook over other AI vendors because they know dispatch. They’re also part of our front-line CSR,” said Rick Rogers, Chief Executive Officer of Del-Air.

Investors backing the company say dispatch gives Probook a structural advantage in a fragmented industry where service businesses need operational depth rather than surface-level automation.

“Dispatch is the nerve center of every home service business, and Probook built their entire platform around it,” said David Haber, General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz. “It’s a years-old structural moat. America’s largest home service brands run on Probook today. We’re proud to have led their Series A.”

Konstantine Buhler, Partner at Sequoia Capital, said the founding team’s industry experience was central to the firm’s decision to invest.

“Most founders building for the trades have never worked in them. George has. Pair that with the team’s outlier technical depth, and you see why we backed Probook at Seed and why we’re doubling down now,” he said.

The investment comes as AI adoption accelerates in sectors that were historically slow to digitise. While much of the AI conversation has focused on software, finance, media and enterprise productivity, investors are increasingly targeting industries where operational workflows remain manual, fragmented and labour-intensive.

Many operators manage high call volumes, field teams, repeat customer requests, emergency jobs, payment processes and follow-ups across disconnected systems. This creates an opening for AI tools that can reduce administrative friction while increasing revenue per technician.
