Akufo-Addo sacks Col. Kwadwo Damoah

The Office of the Presidency has issued a sack letter to Colonel Kwadwo Damoah, the incumbent Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

The Office of the Presidency, in the letter, requested Col. Kwadwo Damoah to hand-over his duties as the Commissioner of the Customs Division to the acting Deputy Commissioner (Preventive Service), Seidu Iddrisu.

Per the letter, Col. Kwadwo Damoah is expected to vacate the post effective Friday, August 26, 2022.

The letter from the Presidency follows the ongoing impasse between Col. Kwadwo Damoah and the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) over the illegal GHS 1m duties waiver granted Labianca Limited by the Customs Division, of which Col. Kwadwo Damoah was alleged to have granted the said waiver by the OSP.
