Alan Kyerematen resigns as Trade Minister
Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen has resigned ahead of a possible ministerial reshuffle in the coming days.
Mr Kyerematen, who has had an eye on the presidency, tendered in his resignation letter on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
He has served as trade minister since President Nana Akufo-Addo came to power in 2017.
Speaking in an interview on Friday, January 6, 2023, pollster Ben Ephson said Kyerematen’s resignation is long overdue.
“I can confirm that it’s true,” Ephson said. “It’s been too long in coming. We should expect a reshuffle in the coming weeks. By Tuesday or Wednesday it will be clear.”
The Office of the President is however, yet to officially comment on the development.
