Globe Productions successfully holds 5th Edition of Ghana Business Awards

Globe Productions Limited, organizers of the Ghana Business Awards, has successfully held the 5th edition of the Ghana Business Awards.

The prestigious awards scheme which recognises and rewards excellence across all sectors in the country was held on Saturday, October 29, at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Mark Okraku Martey, noted that the Ghanaian economy, amid the prevailing macroeconomic challenges needs businesses in the country to bounce back.

“Government acknowledges the challenges we have now as a country, we have not been spared in the global economic challenges. This is the time we need the industry more, your innovations and collaborations, so we can bounce back together,” he noted.

Also speaking at the event was the President of the Institute of Directors, Ghana (IoD-Gh),  Rockson Dogbegah, who averred Ghana needs a good mass of ethical leaders to promote the culture of good corporate governance, as good corporate governance attracts investors and leads to growth in investments.

In a move to deepen good corporate governance in the country, Mr Dogbegah quipped the Institute of Directors Ghana, is currently seeking to develop a national corporate governance code for businesses in the country.

The national corporate governance code, Mr Dogbegah further noted, harmonises existing sectoral corporate governance codes and incorporates international best practices.

On the night, Ghana Link Network Services Limited was adjudged Trade Facilitation Company of the year, Nick Danso Adjei of Ghana Link Network Services Limited was named Entrepreneur of the year, Ecobank Ghana was adjudged Bank of the Year, B5 Plus was named Manufacturing Company of the Year with Qatar Airways adjudged Airline of the Year.

The Ghana Business Awards provides a platform to recognize individuals and companies that play a significant role in the growth and development of their business sector while recognising the key functions within the sector that promote growth and sustainability.

The event seeks to celebrate achievement, innovation and brilliance within the business environment of Ghana.
