The Board of the Ghana Audit Service, has requested from former Auditor-General, Daniel Yao Domelevo, a handing-over note upon his retirement as the Auditor-General.
The handing-over note requested by the Audit Service Board is to assist the acting Auditor-General, Johnson Akuamuah Asiedu, discharge his duties until the appointment of a substantive Auditor-General by the president.
However, in a reply to the request for a handing-over note by the Audit Service Board, Mr Domelevo described as preposterous the Board’s request stating that he has not acted in his capacity as the Auditor-General for more than 8 months.
Mr Domevelo in his reply to the Audit Service Board further posited that, he was requested to proceed on leave by President Akufo-Addo on the very day he resumed work as the Auditor-General.
“Notwithstanding, if you so wish, please direct the Acting Director-General to hand over to me and I will thereafter handover to him,” read the concluding part of Mr Domelevo’s letter.
