GCB, MAC emerge decliners on the stock exchange

Sixteen (16) equities traded on the Accra bourse, ending with two decliners.

The two decliners were GCB and Mega African Capital Limited (MAC) that lost GHS 0.05 and GHS 0.01 to close trading at GHS 4 and GHS 5.38 respectively.

The market capitalization of the stock exchange settled at GHS 64.48 billion.

A total of 648,722 shares valued at GHS 848,097.63 was traded on Wednesday.

Compared with the previous GSE trading day (September 13), Wednesday’s data shows a 33.96% decrease in volume traded and a 19.56% increase in  trade turnover.  

Enterprise Group Limited. (EGL) accounted for 43.42% of the total value traded whilst Cal Bank recorded the largest volumes traded.

Meanwhile, the benchmark index (GSE-Composite Index) of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) dropped for the third day running by 1.28 points to close  trading at 2,500.41 points representing a YTD return of -10.36%.

The GSE  Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also dropped by 2.30 points to close  trading at 2,074.73 points translating into a YTD return of -3.58%.
