BoG Governor lauds Republic Bank for significant growth in assets and deposits
The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison has recognized Republic Bank for a significant growth in assets and deposits despite the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Governor made this known in his remarks at the official commissioning of the Republic Court Building held in Accra on January 28, 2022.
According to the BOG Governor, comparative performance indicators based on the Bank’s prudential returns show significant growth in assets and deposits, notwithstanding the challenging economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Republic Bank recorded strong deposit growth of 15.6 percent in the last quarter of 2021 due to the enhanced mobilization strategy. Total Assets also grew by 71.7 percent over the same review period, and the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of 23.7 was above the regulatory requirement as at end of December 2021,” he stated.
Dr. Ernest Addison added that since entering the banking sector in Ghana, Republic Bank has distinguished itself as a bank with a mission to implement sound policies and provide personalized, efficient, and competitively priced financial services to the benefit of customers.

“The opening of this Head Office Annex attests to the Bank’s successful expansion strategy and the Bank of Ghana applauds the continuous growth and development of the Bank”.
“The Governor of Bank of Ghana took the opportunity to remind the management team of the vision of the Bank and, to use the acquisition in Ghana as a platform to launch their international expansion strategy in Africa. “Ghana currently houses the headquarters of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area and it provides a good opportunity to see the Republic Bank venture into other countries on the continent,” Dr. Addison advised.
Dr. Ernest Addison was a keynote speaker at the official commissioning of Republic Court Building. Key dignitaries present at the function were the Senior Presidential Advisor, Hon. Yaw Osafo-Maafo, Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey; the Accra Mayor, Hon. Elizabeth Sackey, the Regional Police Commander and the Municipal Chief Executive Korle Klottey, Hon. Adjei Tawiah. Others included the Trinidad and Tobago Consulate, Honorary Consul Hilton John Mitchell, Board Chairman of Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC, Mr. Charles William Zwennes, the Managing Director, Mr. Farid Antar, Directors of the Republic Bank and Executive Management and Staff of Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC.
Republic Bank Ghana commissioned its Ultra-Modern building, Republic Court located on the independence avenue, Ridge. The commissioning came off on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the forecourt of the Republic Court.
The event was climaxed with the commissioning of the African Union Square, opposite the Republic court building, which the Bank adopted for refurbishment, greening and maintenance in accordance with its Corporate Social Responsibility.
