British Airways (BA) is reported to have backtracked on its decision to switch its Accra-London flight route from Heathrow Airport to Gatwick Airport.
The reversal of the airline’s decision, is said to be on the back of negotiations between government and officials of British Airways following government’s threat to take a reciprocal action against the airline.
Government’s rejection of the change in flight route by BA was premised on the fact that, the airline did not consult it when making the decision.
The change in flight routes meant that all London-Accra-London bound British Airways flights will originate and terminate at the London Gatwick Airport instead of the Heathrow Airport.
The change in flight routes was scheduled to take effect in the summer of June this year..
