CAF Champions League: We will qualify to the next stage of the competition, says Samuel Boadu
Head Coach Samuel Boadu believes his side will advance to the group stages of the CAF Champions League despite a narrow win over WAC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Phobians have a slim advantage over Moroccan powerhouse Wydad Athletic Club courtesy of a sleek finish from Isaac Mensah which secured a 1-0 win in the first leg tie in Accra.
Boadu has assured the club’s vibrant fanbase to rally behind the team as they make the trip to North Africa next weekend for the second leg of the tie at the Stade Mohammed V.
He said in a post-match interview that his side has enough quality to make it to the next phase of the CAF Champions League.
“We have learnt a lot from this game [against WAC]. We’ll surely manage our style of play in the return leg tie for a good outcome in Morocco,” Boadu told the media in a post-match interview.
“The fans shouldn’t give up and that’s our motto ‘Never Say Die’. We are traveling to Morocco to qualify to the next stage of the competition.” Samuel Boadu added.
Wydad Athletic Club play host to Hearts of Oak next weekend in Casablanca and the winner of this fixture over two legs will progress to the group stages of the Champions League.
