  • Crypto Market Weakens as Bitcoin Falls to US$77,426, Ether and Solana Extend Losses

The cryptocurrency market came under renewed selling pressure over the past week, with Bitcoin falling to US$77,426 as risk sentiment weakened across major digital assets.

Bitcoin began the seven-day period at US$81,725, before sliding to US$80,481 and then US$79,278. The asset briefly recovered to US$81,052 midweek, but the rebound proved short-lived as prices retreated to US$79,069, then US$78,135, before settling at US$77,426 today. The move represents a weekly decline of about 5.3%, based on the price movement from US$81,725 to US$77,426.

The weakness was broader across the crypto market, with several major altcoins recording steeper losses than Bitcoin.

Ether traded at US$2,134.20, down 10.00% over the last seven days, while Solana fell 11.93% to US$84.95. XRP declined 5.62% to US$1.39, while Litecoin dropped 10.91% to US$53.83.

The sharpest fall among the assets tracked came from Bitcoin Cash, which declined 22.90% to US$357.07, suggesting that selling pressure was particularly heavy in older high-beta crypto assets.

BNB was relatively more resilient, falling 3.32% over the week to US$641.80, making it the strongest performer among the major altcoins listed.

The week’s price action suggests that investors remain cautious on digital assets, with Bitcoin’s failed attempt to hold above US$81,000 weakening market confidence. The steady decline into the US$77,000 range indicates that buyers are yet to regain control after the midweek rebound.

For traders, the immediate focus will be whether Bitcoin can defend the US$77,000 level and rebuild momentum toward US$80,000. A sustained break below current levels could deepen short-term bearish sentiment, especially if altcoins continue to underperform.

The broader signal from the market is clear: crypto risk appetite has softened, and investors appear to be rotating away from more volatile tokens as uncertainty weighs on speculative assets.

For now, Bitcoin remains the key anchor. If it stabilises, altcoins may find support. But if Bitcoin extends losses, the pressure on Ether, Solana, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash could intensify further.
