GSE-CI closes at 2,498 points; posts -10.44% YTD returns

GSE-CI closes at 2,498 points; posts -10.44% YTD returns

The benchmark index (GSE-Composite Index) of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) opened the trading week in the green as it gained 9.94 points to close trading at 2,498.15 points translating into a YTD return of  -10.44%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also gained18.01points to  close trading at 2,073.65 points, also translating into a YTD return of -3.63%. 

Twelve (12) equities traded, ending with three (3) gainers. Access Bank Ghana PLC. (ACCESS) gained GH¢0.01 to close at GH¢4.01, Ecobank Ghana  PLC. (EGH) gained GH¢0.07 to close at GH¢6.67 whilst GCB Bank PLC. (GCB) gained GH¢0.30to close at GH¢4.00.

There were no decliners recorded on the day as market capitalization for the day settled at GH¢64.38 billion.

Compared with the previous GSE trading day (September 23), Monday’s data shows a 92.15% decrease in volume traded and a 91.85% decrease in trade turnover.

Ecobank Ghana PLC. (EGH) accounted for 40.54% of the total  value traded whilst Scancom PLC. (MTNGH) recorded the most volumes  traded.
