Dove Payments: Ghana-based Tech start-up to help simply healthcare payments
Dove Payments, a Ghana-based healthcare technology start-up, has announced the launch of its private beta trials with the mission to simplify healthcare payments for emerging markets, beginning with Ghana. With a goal to provide a cashless system for healthcare providers and patients, Dove Payments offers a secure platform for providers to make payments for utilities, equipment maintenance, pharmaceutical suppliers, laundering services, and other expenses with full accountability and traceability of funds disbursement. In addition, patients can easily scan and pay for their healthcare bills and other out-of-pocket expenses through Dove Wallet.
The platform employs a transfer-check mechanism, which ensures that healthcare business owners (HBOs) must provide approval for all financial transactions on their business account. The objective is to provide full accountability and traceability of funds disbursement. As such, Dove Payments not only aims to support healthcare providers in transitioning to a more digital-based payment solution, but also prioritizes proper oversight and fiscal accountability.
Dove Payments is the brainchild of Alexander Okereke, the founder and CEO of the start-up. With years of experience as a healthcare business executive at mPharma Ghana Ltd, Okereke has developed a strong understanding of the healthcare market in Ghana. His previous experience as a project coordinator and integrations specialist for a multichain pharmacy acquisition in East Africa, Uganda, has helped him to lead business development and strategy efforts. He believes that Dove Payments can be the backbone of all healthcare payment by providers and patients across the continent in the near future.
NewHealth Technologies Ltd, parent company to Dove Payments, has announced that Henry Kwasi Kpano, a senior data specialist, will be joining its board and taking up an advisor role for data operation. The move will strengthen the company’s capabilities in managing the large volume of data that will be generated from the use of the platform.
Dove Payments’ launch has been well received by industry experts, who believe that it will provide significant benefits to the healthcare market in emerging markets. With the platform’s ability to simplify payments and provide greater oversight and accountability, it has the potential to revolutionize the way healthcare payments are made in Ghana and other emerging markets.
Overall, Dove Payments is poised to make a significant impact on the healthcare industry in Ghana, and potentially other emerging markets, by providing a simple and secure cashless system for healthcare payments. As the platform moves into its private beta trials, there is significant anticipation for the impact it will have on healthcare providers and patients in the region.
